Two Questions

Who eats last?

We have all heard the phrase "Leaders Eat Last". This powerful, three-word phrase captures the essence of leadership. It symbolizes the priority of serving others before oneself. Think about the most effective and impactful leaders in your life. Likely, they each demonstrated different skills and attributes, and had diverse life experiences. Some might have been outgoing and charismatic, while others were more analytical and reserved in their leadership approach. Yet, they all have one thing in common – the dedication to helping others. This selfless commitment is what makes them stand out as leaders. Remember, the one common thread all effective leaders share is a sincere commitment to serving others before themselves.

Why do we have leaders?

Have you ever thought about this question? Part of the reason lies in hierarchy and organization, but a title alone does not inspire belief in the leader or provide hope for a better future. In reading some of Simon Sinek’s work, we discovered that he explores this question by comparing leadership from ancient times to the present. Regardless of the historical era, leadership has always been essential for resolving disagreements and navigating challenges. Although the challenges may vary, the need for effective leadership remains constant.

What do you think are the crucial characteristics, values, and traits of successful leaders that have remained important throughout history?
